Which one would you choose?
On the left we have a concoction of plant based ingredients meant to replicate what is arguably one of nature’s perfect foods. It has little nutritional value other than maybe some low-quality protein from mung bean and has a long list of questionable ingredients.
We also don’t know what other types of industrial contaminants it may harbor, leached from its industrial production.
On the right, we have a food that humans have been eating for centuries and is backed by science as a health food. And, eggs are more than just protein and cholesterol.
Eggs provide: Protein, choline, vitamin A, vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, folate, riboflavin, biotin, zinc, calcium, selenium, copper, iron, iodine, phosphorous, EPA, DHA, lutein.
The plant-based egg is heavily marketed using misleading and dishonest tactics, like suggesting it’s healthier which is a weird claim considering it has Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate listed in its ingredients.
Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate is used in household, and industrial cleaning compounds, as a water softener, metal cleaner, and for oil well drilling and has a list of side effects including skin rash, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and visual problems.
And I’m not buying their claim that this ultra-processed food that is manufactured in an industrial factory, packaged in a plastic containers and shipped nationwide is better for the environment than eggs you can get from a local farmer or your backyard chicken coop.
