I’m calling B.S. on these excuses.
I’m very busy at work right now…
I’ve too many events coming up…
I’ll wait until my calendar is a little clearer…
I call this the “I’ll start on Monday” syndrome.
These are the most common excuses people use to avoid starting a fitness program and they sound like a valid excuses.
However, it's B.S.
Why?
LOCKDOWN!
If ever there was a time when we had no social obligations, no communing to work, no running the kids around, no overnight travel it was during lockdowns.
However, all the research shows that most people gained weight during the pandemic. In fact, 65% of those who were overweight before the pandemic gained more weight during the pandemic.
The reality is it’s very rare to have a completely clear schedule for 6 – 12 weeks.
Start right now because even if you get a few clear weeks, the busier weeks are inevitable. And rather than seeing them as obstacles that derail your program, see them as part of life that needs to be navigated.
Are you going to forgo four good weeks of training just because you have two bad weeks in the middle? It doesn’t have to be an either-or situation.
My clients enjoy holidays, special occasions, and manage stressful periods in their lives all while continuing to move forward with their fitness goals.
Don’t wait and make the same old excuses to yourself.
Why not start now so when January comes along you're not starting from scratch.
