Excuses, Excuses, Excuses!

During a recent consultation with a new client, I heard an excuse I’ve heard a thousand times.

“I can’t stick to diets, I’m a foodie – I just love food too much!”

Because I’ve heard this so many times – I have a stock answer.

“Ok, but we all do! Everyone loves food - I don’t know a single person on the planet who doesn’t love food.”

Too often people associate starvation and deprivation with a healthy diet. In reality, you are just replacing crap food with nutrient-dense food.

It’s a change in mindset.

Replace - I need to stop eating....

With - I need to eat more protein, more vegetables, drink more water.

Another classic excuse.

“I’m too busy to work out, I just can’t carve out the time.”

“Really, how much time do you spend scrolling on social media each day? Reading the news, watching the news, watching Netflix?”

A 10-minute workout is better than nothing, 20-minutes is better again. It doesn’t have to be a 1hr workout or nothing.

Part of my job is helping clients see the silly excuses that are holding them back from being a healthier, fitter version of themselves.

What excuses are you coming up with? Analyze them honestly, are you coming up with reasons to give yourself an out?

If you are, it's time to be harder on yourself. No excuses! Stop making a big deal out of it.

Get a workout done. TODAY!
Replace the crap food in your fridge with nutrient-dense foods. TODAY!
Drink more water. TODAY!

A couple of weeks like this and you’ll have more energy, feel better and your body will thank you for it.
